Arc Fund Management Ltd specialises in tax-efficient investments under the EIS. The investments are by way of H M Revenue & Customs approved Funds, which each invest in a range of companies across different sectors. The purpose of this form of investment is to bring together young, innovative companies with high quality business ideas and potential investors in a tax efficient way. Companies with high growth potential, which qualify for the tax benefits of the EIS, are targeted for investment at an early stage so as to offer greater growth possibilities.
EIS is a government introduced scheme that was established in 1994 to encourage private investment by giving significant tax incentives to investors in shares in EIS Qualifying Companies. Since its inception, in excess of £250m has been raised through the scheme.
The EIS Funds created by
Arc Fund Management Limited are 'Approved Investment Funds'. The
Funds are approved by the H M Revenue & Customs (under section 251
of The Income Taxes Act 2007) so that investors keep the tax advantages
of the Enterprise Investment Scheme, whilst benefiting from a spread
portfolio of investments.
Arc EIS Funds are much more than a tax-shelter scheme. They also aim for an investment return by investing in carefully selected 'early stage' growth companies. These investments, which are made at a pre-IPO stage, will often be at a discount to the future forecast value of the company at the listing stage. Listings would normally be on the AIM market.
The Arc EIS Growth Funds have been specifically designed to provide investors with a spread of investments in small and early stage companies that qualify for tax advantages. The Funds look to reduce investors’ risk by investing in a diversified portfolio of companies including a mixture of potentially cash generative and asset backed businesses.
The Arc EIS Funds will
attract the applicable tax benefits. Should you have any questions
in relation to these benefits you should consult a suitably qualified
tax professional. The Arc EIS 7 Growth Fund closes on 4th April
2008.
Risk
Warning
Investing in a portfolio of such shares in different sectors as offered by the Arc EIS Funds may have the overall effect of spreading the risk, but investors should remember that EIS companies are unquoted securities which may be considered a higher risk than quoted securities or shares.
